How To Create A Better You One Goal at a Time

When there are things that you want to accomplish, how many goals do you set at one time?

There are many ways to reach your goals. One great way is by creating a vision board. Vision boards are a tool that can lead to great transformations in all aspects of your life. Of course, you can create a general vision board to help you establish what you want from life in the long term. However, if you want to ensure they deliver the best results, it’s important to focus on one goal at a time.

How?

By creating a vision board for each goal that you want to achieve. Read on to find out why it’s important to focus on just one goal at a time.

Why One Goal At A Time Is Powerful

Even if you have several goals that you’re interested in achieving to transform yourself or live the life that you wish to live, the most effective way to achieve them is to focus on one at a time. That’s because it’s easy to underestimate just how difficult it is to change a habit.

Focus is one of the most powerful tools you have at your disposal. When used solely on one thing at a time, you can create long-lasting changes in a faster timeframe than if you were to focus on several things at once. The more things you try to take on, the more fractured your focus will be and the harder it’ll be to reach your goals.

So, as tempting as it might be, avoid creating a vision board which focuses on several improvements. Stick to just one thing at a time and you’ll see much faster, more effective results.

One Goal = Less Stress

Initially, when you’re looking to make a change, setting a lot of goals can be exciting and motivating. However, in the long run, it can be stressful.

Working on more than one goal at a time can easily become overwhelming because there are a lot of tasks to juggle. It’s possible to forget where you are with each goal, plus it’s so much more difficult to focus on changes if they’re too diverse.

This can also lead to feeling out of control of your goals because there’s too many to work on. So, if you want to reduce your stress levels by managing your stress before your stress manages you and increase your chances of success, creating one new goal at a time is highly recommended.

You Gain Motivation And Confidence

Motivation is a big part of achieving any personal development goal. When you crowd your vision board with too many goals, it can be difficult to give each goal your full attention. This means, it’s easy to make a mistake or not follow through with one goal as you’re focusing on another. If this happens, it will only cause your motivation levels to drop.

When you work on just one goal at a time, it’s much easier to stay motivated. All your focus will be on that one goal, reducing the likelihood you’ll veer off-course.

As you keep making strides towards your goal your confidence will increase. As you start to see results on that one goal you’ve set yourself, you’ll feel a sense of pride. You’ll realize you can achieve your goals and transform yourself. As you start becoming the person you were meant to be, your confidence grows.

Building Up Consistency

Focusing on one goal at a time also helps you become consistent. Consistency means tackling your goal one step at a time. It gives you a roadmap towards what works for you in achieving goals and makes it easier to achieve the next one.

One Goal Vision board

Now that you know why it can be helpful to create a vision board with just one goal at a time, let’s talk about how to create it.

Traditional vision boards are usually sectioned off into the various areas of the person’s life. However, with the one goal vision board, instead of a variety of pictures and words dealing with all aspects of your life that you want to change; the one goal vision board has a variety of pictures and words that all revolve around a single goal.

For instance, instead of a healthy living board that has sections for diet, exercise, self-care, etc. You can have a vision board that revolves around one topic such as increasing your water intake. So you would have images, quotes and words that inspire you to drink more water.

So there you have it! Why and how to create a vision board that helps you to focus on one goal at a time. It won’t be easy, but you can do it. It’s all about Making Time.

Let’s talk, what is the one goal that you are going to design your vision board around? Let me know in the comments section.
